Overview
For many years, Hill's has partnered with shelters across the country to provide resources and relief for pets displaced by natural disasters. September is National Disaster Preparedness Month in the U.S.—an opportune time for pet owners to learn how to prepare in case of disaster.
Hill's created a social campaign focused on pet emergency kits, driving viewers to an educational landing page with additional tips and resources for natural disaster preparedness.
Approach
Hill’s social content has continually veered toward specific, unique topics that require advance preparation and shoot/production knowledge.
A scrappy social budget necessitates a lot of creative problem-solving. Pair that with any given brand's idiosyncrasies, and there'll be a lot to iron out. Stop motion video felt 1) doable, 2) effective and 3) aesthetically pleasing.
I organized a shoot, sourced props and set up the studio for social-first photography and video. I learned to set up lighting, styled the set, then shot and edited the content.
